I love this bridge! The perfect curvilinear forms, expressing a mathematical perfection, separate the viewer from the chaos and disorder of the City. The latter recedes into toy size in the distance as the powerfully graceful example of engineering magic takes you over the river, crossing the urban-suburban gulf. And the new silver paint adds to the rocketship-like experience as you fly over the river… Even better that it’s such a mundane bit of everyday life that is hardly worth a thought beyond maybe a grimace at the $8 fare or nervous glance as the wind make its will known.
