The Rodin at the Met exhibition really moving. With sculptures like the thinker, which I loved from my visits to the Musee Rodin in Paris during and since my university years and from the campus of Columbia University (just outside Philosophy hall), it was a bit of a homecoming for me. I was really happily surprised to see some original photographs of Rodin’s Balzac sculpture by Steichen. You can also get to know Rodin, the man. A man of big appetites and an even bigger ego. While I don’t think I would have liked to meet him, his work is outstanding.
The exhibition is on at the Met until January 15.
